Blizzard might add cross-platform play for consoles

“There is no cross platform play,” the developer said in response to a question. “We’ll keep an eye on cross-platform possibilities on the consoles.”

PC players will still be out of luck from playing with their console peasants, though. Blizzard restated what it had in the past: that it had no intentions on mixing console players and PC players due to “balance and competitive issues.”

While both Sony and Microsoft have been open supporters of cross-platform play, no game so far has attempted to support it and implement it yet. Rocket League has been closest to doing this, but so far there’s been no date as to when this will actually be happening. If Blizzard could kickstart that revolution, it’d be a great day for multiplayer gaming.
