Being the game director for Overwatch, Jeff Kaplan certainly has the authority to tell the community who, or who isn’t, on the ‘radar’ for the development team.

Although Kaplan didn’t say what they were looking at, they wanted to “lower the frustration” associated with the games most popular sniper. “Widowmaker is on our radar. We are discussing her. We have some internal experiments going to see if we can keep her viable while lowering the frustration threshold a little bit. Right now, this is just exploration. If something more comes of it, we’ll let you know.”

Widowmaker is one of Overwatch’s more popular heroes, which makes sense considering how much FPS players love to use snipers. Although Hanzo is another option to deal with enemies from a long range, Widowmaker’s higher health pool and stronger attacks often make her a first option for players.
