The recent release of augmented reality mobile game Pokemon GO has taken the world by storm with thousands of people around the globe taking to the streets to find and catch Pokemon. The GO Plus accessory allows you to play the game without having your phone out, but the accessory has now received a delay.

A Bluetooth device that is worn on the wrist, the GO Plus will glow and vibrate when near PokeStops or Pokemon. It can even be used to collect items and catch Pokemon already added to the Pokedex.

The GO Plus will hopefully eliminate the need to constantly watch your phone while out and about, which can be dangerous. But the delay means that trainers will need to rely on the app a little while longer. Nintendo announced the delay via Twitter, stating that the release date has been pushed back until September 2016 rather than its intended July launch.

Speaking with Polygon, Nintendo provided a reason for the delay, saying, “The delay is due to the preparations for the Pokemon GO application update in order to optimize Pokemon GO Plus. In order for us to offer new experiences to play Pokemon GO with Pokemon GO Plus with a quality level high enough to satisfy as many people as possible, we decided that it is necessary to take enough time for the completion.” The delay affects both the US and Europe.

Pokemon GO Plus will release for $34.99
