Telltale has set up a wonderful new take on Batman with their own spins and surprises. As the 4th part of their 5 part Batman series, they’ve chosen to give us a small glimpse of their personal Joker, in a new trailer for the upcoming chapter, coming November 22nd.

Telltale has included a special note about Episode 4: Guardian of Gotham, saying, “Players will leave this episode in very different places depending on where they choose to go in the third act, and this will greatly affect their story rolling into the season finale as well.”

In episode 4, players find themselves in a world following the shocking 3rd episode, where Penguin has control of Wayne Enterprises, Harvey Dent has made a full transformation into Two-Face after his election to Mayor, and Bruce Wayne is condemned to rot in Elizabeth Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane. In this new upside-down Gotham, without the Batman to keep order, the police and The Children of Arkham are running amok and endangering the civilians Bruce swore to protect.

As Bruce you must “escape the ‘comforts’ of your padded cell, you must choose allies to aid in your escape, even if they aren’t the sort to put a smile on your face. How far are you willing to go for justice? For vengeance? What now, Dark Knight?”

It sounds a lot like the glimpses of Joker in the trailer aren’t exactly in a purely antagonistic light. Could you be forced to work together with the Joker, bringing him along to possibly destroy more of Gotham?

Fans of the series can find out soon, when the newest episode releases on November 22nd for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and compatable iOS and Android devices.
