ARK: Survival Evolved’s previous patch introduced players to the sci-fi TEK technology, and Patch 255 now expands on TEK with new structures, as well as several new animals to find and tame.

Just as TEK was the star of ARK: Survival Evolved’s previous patch, it continues to be at the forefront of Patch 255. Not only can players use the new TEK tileset and structures to build a base Captain Kirk would be proud of, they can also defend their newfound sci-fi home with the nigh-impenetrable TEK Forcefield. Sadly, Studio Wildcard has not added any new TEK armor or weapons to the game.

Patch 255 also introduces four new animals for players to hunt and/or tame:

While Patch 255 also adds some new hairstyles. The rest of the patch notes consist of minor tweaks, re-balances, and optimizations. However, Studio Wildcard promises to add even more animals, TEK structures, and a new mechanic in the next patch.
