For some time, we have known that Friday the 13th’s main character Jason Voorhees would be joining the Mortal Kombat X roster. Now, we have a definite release date as to when players can download him.
Mortal Kombat X players will be able to control the machete wielding killer on May 5. NetherRealm announced the release date during a livestream, and added that the character will only be available to those that purchased the Kombat Pack DLC. Those who did not purchase the Kombat Pack will have to wait a week before they will be able to purchase Jason. He will also be playable as a part of the game’s Premiere Towers, even to those who have not purchased him. Also, NetherRealm will be streaming gameplay of Jason on their Twitch channel on May 4th, giving gamers a chance to check him out before he releases.
Jason is one of four confirmed DLC characters for Mortal Kombat X. The other three characters are Tanya, Tremor, and Predator (from the movie series of the same name). All four of the characters are a part of the Kombat Pack, which will run gamers $29.99.
Mortal Kombat X is available for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The game will release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 later this year.
