After Activision reported 20 million registered Destiny players during an earnings report, the publisher teased a new “major content release” for Destiny, set to come in the fall of this year. This new expansion will be the “biggest yet” for Destiny.

Nothing specific was said about what the content could include, but its being designed to appeal to current Destiny players as well as those who have yet to explore the worlds of Destiny. This new expansion will be preceded by multiple content drops throughout the summer, and will be “the biggest addition to the Destiny universe yet, across all modes of play,” according to the Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshburg.

Not much else was revealed, but Bungie did register the trademark for “The Taken King” – this may hint toward a working title for the big expansion, but we’ll have to wait and see. For now, everyone’s eyes are set on the upcoming House of Wolves expansion, set to drop on May 19th. Stick with Gamespresso for the latest news on Destiny!
