According to a new trademark recently filed by Destiny developer Bungie, the planned September expansion for the sci-fi shooter will apparently be entitled, “The Taken King.”
The trademark was uncovered by NeoGAF user Kifimbo, who also revealed the following logo for the trademark:
Attorney Jim Charne, who filed the trademark for both The Dark Below and House of Wolves, also filed this particular trademark, arguably confirming the credibility of the title.
The logo appears reminiscent of Hive iconography, suggesting that this expansion will be focused largely around the insect-like enemy faction.
A leak from earlier this year implied the existence of a much larger content release scheduled for the fall. Referred to as a “Comet” expansion, it appears “The Taken King” might very well be the official nameplate for the upcoming DLC.
