After controversy regarding the Confederate flag, Apple began blanket removing titles from the iTunes App Store for using the Confederate flag in “in offensive and mean-spirited ways.” One of the games affected by the ban, Ultimate General: Gettysburg, is back on the App Store.

Developer Games-Lab said this after their game was removed: “We accept Apple’s decision and understand that this is a sensitive issue for the American Nation… We wanted our game to be the most accurate, historical, playable reference of the Battle of Gettysburg.”

Another game, Civil War: 1863, also found its way back on the App Store today, albeit with the Confederate flag removed from its icon screenshots.

Apple originally said they would only remove Apps using the Confederate Flag in “offensive ways.” However, even games that included the flag for historical accuracy were removed.

An Apple spokesperson has since said they would reinstate games they deemed to have been wrongly removed.
