Sony is currently investigating the lengthy download speeds that many customers have reported experiencing on their PlayStation 4.

After numerous European users complained about slow download speeds, Sony commented in an official forum that they are currently looking into the problem.

“We are aware of reports that some users are experiencing slower then usual download speeds from the PlayStation Store,” the post reads. “This has been reported to our network team for investigation. Please keep an eye on this thread for updates.”

The original posted on the forum wrote that their new PlayStation 4 took over six hours to download three gigabytes.

While it’s unknown how many players have reported experiencing slow download speeds through the PlayStation Network, the forums contain many customers expressing similar concerns. At the moment, this problem seems to be only be affecting European users.

PlayStation Network maintenance is currently scheduled for Monday, June 29 from 9:30 to 11 p.m pacific.  The maintenance period is expected to last two hours. Your PlayStation account, games, and applications will all be available during the maintenance period.
