During Nintendo’s E3 presentation, they announced  The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes for the 3DS. This 3 player game will be available this fall.

Zelda Producer Eiji Aonuma and Director Hiromasa Shikata gave us a look at how the game will function.

“I wanted players to cooperatively enjoy more serious Zelda gameplay elements, like solving puzzles and going through dungeons,” Shikata said. He wanted the game to be less competitive and more corporative.

The game shows off a totem mechanic where you stack players on top of each other so you can shoot and reach higher than ever before. There will also be a fashion element, as you collect outfits you can change into different ones. Each outfit has a different ability.

The game will support online multiplayer and single player. In single player mode that will have two little doll characters they follow you, you’ll be able to switch between them to help you progress.
