The NPD has just released the monthly report for sales per unit of video games for the month of May. The numbers of this list are based on the actual physical copies sold for each of the games. At the very top of the charts are Witcher 3, Mortal Combat X, and GTA 5 in that order.
The Witcher 3 had an outstanding release month, selling over 4 million copies in the first two weeks. The Witcher 3 is to date one of the most successful RPGs and the best selling RPG, overall, on current gen consoles.
Mortal Combat X was the number one seller of April and has only moved down to second, followed closely by the still selling GTA5, due to the current gen and PC releases.
According to the NPD Video Game Sales report here’s the list of the top 10 sellers of May overall in terms of physical copies sold per title.
