Keiji Inafune, considered the “father of Mega Man,” has added a PS4 port stretch goal on kickstarter for Red Ash – The Indelible Legend. The pledge is currently above $470,000, but it still requires an additional $330,000 for the PS4 stretch goal. The PS4 port was determined by a poll where the backers voted on which console to port the game to.
If the goal is reached, there is potential that Red Ash will be ported to other consoles as well. The console poll will remain open so that Inafune can learn the next console he should prioritize porting the game to.
Red Ash – The Indelible Legend is a RPG/third-person shooter, which is the spiritual successor to Mega Man Legends. It is an open world and anime-styled video game, which takes place in the near future in a sci-fi setting. The creators of this game designed the setting so players would wonder if this game takes place on earth or not.
One interesting name working on this game is Manami Matsumae, a composer from Shovel Knight, the original Mega Man, and Dragon Quest Swords: The Mask of the Queen and the Tower of Mirrors, and more. Her previous works suggests the soundtrack of Red Ash will be amazing. Another person working on Red Ash is Kazushi Ito, an art director who worked on Mega Man 6, Mega Man Legends, Ape Escape 3, etc. The list of other talented people working on Red Ash – The Indelible Legend goes on.
