A tweet published on the official Allison Road twitter page and an update on their recently launched Kickstarter page has confirmed that the campaign has been cancelled. However Lilith, the studio behind the spiritual successor to P.T., revealed that the cancellation came because “we will be joining Team17’s highly successful games label”. Team17 is a British independent developer known for their work on such games as Worms, Stunt GP, and Phoenix.

Lilith reassured fans that the partnership allows them to maintain creative control, telling backers “Working with Team 17 will give us the chance to make our game unhindered creatively, but at the same time will give us the resources, support and experience that only a 25 year old studio can give.”

For those who have already backed the project, the studio promised that “we will look at ways outside of Kickstarter that will allow you to be involved in the game at a later date.”

The proof of concept video released in June created a buzz among horror video game fans, but with the recent partnership we can expect the project to “be going very quiet for a while,” as Lilith and Team17 focus on continuing the development of Allison Road.
