While this might have been the holiday season of 1st party exclusives on Microsoft’s end of the line, Sony decided to set themselves up with some third-party deals with Star Wars: Battlefront and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. At last night’s PlayStation Keynote, it was confirmed that all of the map packs would be timed-exclusives for the PS4 and PS3.
Black Ops 3’s first map pack, titled “Awakening,” will be arriving sometime early next year, with PlayStation owners receiving the content a whole 30 days earlier than those on an Xbox One, 360, or PC. The first map pack will come with four new maps and a new zombies map called “Der Eisendrachen.”
As well, it was also revealed that Sony and PlayStation would be the official presenting partner with Activision for the Call of Duty World League. The competitive eSports league has a $3 million dollar prize pool this year.
