Sony Computer Entertainment and Team Ninja showcased a new trailer for Team Ninja’s NiOh today at the Playstation Experience conference in San Francisco.
The game itself has been long in the making, having originally been planned as a three-way project between KOEI Corporation, Kou Shibusawa Productions, and Kurosawa Productions with a motion picture that was cancelled back in September of 2005, only now resurfacing after about 10 years. NiOh is actually based on a previously lost script from the legendary Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa, and the game’s tone and design definitely reflects this. The trailer makes the game out to be almost like Dark Soul if it were set in feudal Japan, which has me psyched to no end.
