Five Nights at Freddy’s has been a horror sensation since its release back in August of 2014.  And even after its fourth and allegedly final title in the tetralogy, FNaF 4, the franchise has continued to gain fans.  It’s latest spin-off RPG, Five Nights at Freddy’s World was released nearly a month earlier than its initial date, which was February 19th.

January 21, FNaF World hit Steam early, not particularly surprising fans of the franchise. This is because creator, Scott Cawthon, is known for earlier-than-promised release dates.  But in a statement on Steam, he admitted to having truly released this game too early.  Due to the game’s overall reception, it was temporarily removed from Steam, and still is as of this writing.  As part of his apology, Cawthon said, “When I’m ready to update the game, I will replace the demo currently on GameJolt with the full game,”

Freddy and his crew return for a slightly more cuddly adventure.

FNaF World’s feedback mainly had to do with certain building blocks of an RPG that were missing in FNaF World.  This includes an information page on the available characters, a mistake to which Cawthorn has humbly admitted.  Other edits to be addressed include one’s access to ability descriptions during battles.  The Steam page offered many tips for what some of these problems address.  However, they were not exclusively in the gameplay itself. This has presented a problem to players in the middle of the game.

In his message on Steam, Cawthon also gave a list of updates he plans to incorporate into the new and improved version of FNaF World: An overworld map, attack command descriptions, byte descriptions (in regards to the “Byte store”), and “Chip description” in the Chips menu.

Logo“So I say this to a community that I’ve enjoyed and respected for over a year and a half now- I’m sorry,” Cawthon concluded. “I will continue to add features to the game and make it right.”
