Though it has been among many of the worries surrounding the recent addition of micro transactions to Destiny, Activision has confirmed they will not be charging real-world money for in-game ammo.

This all comes after VG247 reported early this morning that “a source familiar with the matter” confirmed ammo would soon be added to the list of optional microtransactions. Ammo synths, a consumable resource that regenerates players’ ammo, can currently be purchased from in-game vendors. The report suggested the consumable items would be offered up for silver as well, Destiny’s real-world currency equivalent.

In a statement to GameInformer however, Activision has refuted this. “We’re not doing that,” a representative stated.

Since microtransactions were added in October they have been used to buy emotes and different sparrows, the speeder bike-like mounts in Destiny. In December, the game also added some not-so-micro transactions allowing players to boost their character to level 25 for $30.
