It’s been an exceedingly long time since Left 4 Dead 2 was released, 7 years to be a bit more precise. The hit multiplayer survival co-op game saw a huge hit in popularity when the original game by Turtle Rock Studios was released back in 2008. Since then, the game was passed on to Valve and thus the development for the eventual sequel would rest on the team at Valve. There have been numerous rumors floating around pertaining to the possible ‘Left 4 Dead 3’. Lately, the names of the 4 new survivors for this title as well as the teased release time frame has been popping up.

According to Express.uk, the current names include Irvine the ‘gangster’, Keenan the ‘comic nerd’, Garrett Jr. the Kenpo fighter and the female lead Katherine. Again, these names are taken from a rumor and may not be the true name. It would also seem like the development team have decided to keep the original composition of 3 male characters and one female to rep resent the diversity of the cast. When it comes to the other three characters, it’s still very much unknown what they look like yet since there is no images showing the cast off.

It was mentioned that the team had decided to put off production on Half Life 3 in order to focus their efforts on the 2017 release date for Left 4 Dead 3. Some of the work mentioned include the rumored 6 campaigns which include the return on No Mercy, Cliff-Hanger, Early Destination, Crashland, Impasse and Inquistor Land. The entire game would be running on a newer engine rather than the original Source. I could definitely use some more Left 4 Dead 3, but the notion that it put off development on Half Life 3 sounds a bit sketchy. Wulp, 2017 should already be something to look forward to.
