Those playing Call of Duty: Black Ops III on the PlayStation 4 are in for a special treat this weekend.
Activision has announced that PlayStation 4 players will be able to play the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops III DLC, Awakening, for free this weekend. From Friday, April 1st, at 10:00 a.m. PDT until Monday, April 4th, at 10:00 a.m. PDT, PlayStation 4 players will be able to play the latest maps for free. These maps include Zombies map Der Eisendrache, and four new multiplayer maps: Gauntlet, Splash, Rise, and the reimagined fan-favorite, Skyjacked.
All players have to do is install the latest Black Ops III update. From there, they just have to jump into the Zombies menu and select the latest map, or select the Awakening map playlist. You can also select your preferred-mode-specific playlist and the new maps will automatically show up in the rotation.
There will also be a nice little bonus for players across all platforms. During the weekend, Double XP and Double Weapon XP will be activated, and will last the same period as the Awakening event.
