Nintendo had only recently placed some cross promotion for Splatoon in Miitomo, their mobile game in order to celebrate it’s success on the new platform. This time, Nintendo is reversing it by throwing the biggest worldwide Splatfest between those who believe the costume parties or fancy-clothing parties are better. For the first time ever, this Splatfest will throw all three regions together in order to fight it out. Europeans, Japanese and American players will be able to prove why costume parties are way better- I mean what?
In order to facilitate this ‘world war’, the event will instead run from Friday 8 p.m. PT, May 13th to 3 a.m. PT, May 15th. Changing the original 24 hours to 31 hours!
There’s no special reason for such a big event except to reciprocate the cross promotion love, but it’s a bigger step for Nintendo to have a more unified system for a more global event such as this. Hopefully, this will be the mark of continued global efforts to bring fans together.
