Pulling out all the stops for the next Star Wars Battlefront DLC, DICE is introducing what sounds to be one of the craziest game modes in the title yet. Revealed at Gamescom, the Death Star DLC will include a game mode called Battle Station, involving fighting inside and outside the infamous space station.

Detailing the mode on the game’s website, DICE reveals Battle Station is made up of three phases. In the first phase players will take to X-Wings, A-Wings, Tie Fighters and Tie Interceptors, fighting in space. The Rebels must attack a Star Destroyer by eliminating enough Tie-Fighters and allowing Y-Wing bombers to come disable the ship.

The second phase will then see the Rebels continue their assault straight on into the Death Star itself. “Rebel infantry will be tasked with extracting a priority droid from within the Death Star,” DICE explains.

Once the droid is secured, the fighting returns to space as the Rebels make their final push to destroy the Death Star. In this third phase, new hero ships, Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing and Death Vader’s Tie Fighter, will both be available.

The Death Star DLC will release next month for Battlefront Season Pass holders, followed by a general release two weeks later. Along with the new mode, fans can look forward to more guns, new maps, and even playing as both Chewbacca and the bounty hunter Bossk. Check out the DLC’s teaser trailer below.

For those interested in trying out the game’s second DLC, Bespin, Battlefront is hosting a free trial, starting tomorrow, August 19 and running through Sunday, August 21. A second free trial will then run for September 12-18.
