The annual Masters Gaming Arena tournament, hosted by MSI, will be returning once again, but with a different format. As opposed as last year’s Heroes of the Storm tournament, MSI have decided to run their very first Overwatch MGA. Not only that, but it has been decided that the grand finals will be held in London, for the very first time.

The Overwatch tournament grand finals will be hosted by Gfinity at the Gfinity Arena. Before the grand finals, teams will need to play in regional qualifiers and finals matches. The American regional online qualifiers run from October 4th-5th. From there, Europe’s regional qualifiers will take place from the 7th-8th and Asia’s qualifiers will take place from the 10th-11th. The top 8 teams from each regional qualifier will proceed to the regional finals.

From the 14th to the 21st, the top 8 teams from each online regional qualifiers will fight for victory, in order to become the number one team for the region. These three teams, alongside the official MSI sponsored team, will then be invited to the Grand Finals in London, which will take place on the 7th to the 8th of December, 2016. The winner of the MGA will earn $40,000 in prize money, with the next three runner-ups receiving $20,000, $10,000 and $5,000 respectively.

With the online regional signups already being closed, all there is left, is to watch some high level Overwatch plays and cheer for your favorites teams and players. All of the games will be viewable from MSI’s twitch stream and will begin from October 4th.
