The Division is a game that sets players in a world where New York City has been torn apart by a horrible virus, gangs, and more. Its up to the people to come together, take the missions, and do their best to fight back for the city. As you can imagine, this online title does not really work without a community to build around it. Thankfully, The Division player count is as strong as ever.
It’s not a secret that The Division was not met with immediate praise upon its release. Fans looking forward to this game complained of many glitches and bugs that made it difficult to immerse themselves in the world laid out before them. A number of updates and fixes have been released since then and it has caused a great upswing.
The latest update, 1.4, has really impressed gamers and brought them back to The Division. A report from PCGamesn stated that right now, it is at the same number of active players as it had upon launch. To lose so many and come back to that number months later is a highly impressive feat. Ubisoft mentioned that they had to make a choice to push back new content and DLC to really focus on fixing the issues at hand. I think it is safe to say, it payed off.
