Since the final demo update for Resident Evil 7 was released during the 2016 PlayStation Experience, energy surrounding the game has been high, and Capcom continues to deliver, with 3 new gameplay trailers that show off game mechanics. They’re extremely unsettling, and really set a tone for the full game.

The first has the player walking through the house, encountering the old man we see in the demo and earlier trailers. We see what it’s like to get hit in the game, and also learn that enemies can destroy certain parts of the environment. Long gone are the days of hiding behind the table and running in circles- grandpa can go right through it.

He also busts through drywall, which means that even walls aren’t sure-fire barriers. The trailer ends with the protagonist locking the old man in a burning car, and then him leaving it while on fire, and holding the player until they burn to death too.

Part 2 shows off some environments, and then finally some up-close looks at the infected, which make horrible noises and squish when they walk.

Part 3 starts off with a dead bird nailed to a door, and an old woman covered in giant bugs, cackling maniacally, before showing off a really nice looking swampy area. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will apparently have everything, while containing nothing a sane human would hope for.

Resident Evil 7 is set to release January 24th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
