During the Nintendo Switch Presentation, Nintendo discussed 3rd party support coming to their upcoming console. According to the company, over 80 titles from a variety of different developers are currently in development for the Switch. During the event, some of those companies presented their plans for the console.
Square Enix plans to bring the Dragon Quest series to the Nintendo Switch in full force. Back before the Switch was officially announced, the company planned to release both Dragon Quest X and XI on the console. The company announced last night that Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and 2 would be coming to the Switch, making the console the premier place for new comers and fans to jump into the series.
Atlas Games also announced a new Shine Megami Tensei project to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary this year.
After the announcement trailer for the game, we were also shown Project Octopath Traveler. The company states that this new project will allow players to craft their own adventure and features a classic art style reminiscent of older Final Fantasy titles.
Grass Hopper Games also announced that they are currently working on new game in the No More Heroes series. The company stated that they are taking notes from indie game developers in order to make improvements and build inspiration for the newest title in the franchise.
Bethesda then took the stage to officially announce that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim would be coming to Nintendo’s newest console. The game will take full advantage of the power and versatility of the console, while also bring the immersive world of Skyrim to Nintendo fans.
Finally, EA announced that FIFA would also appear on the Switch. The company’s most innovative franchise will be one of the console’s flagship sports titles featuring many social features that will take full advantage of the online features built into the Switch. Nintendo’s 3rd party Lineup for the upcoming year will give the Switch the boost it needs when it releases on March 3rd.
