Lara Croft: Relic Run has received over 10 million downloads since releasing in late May.
Now, Square Enix has announced new content for the mobile title to help mark the game achieving this milestone. The game will be receiving a new update, which will add a Mountain Pass stage, as well as a new snowmobile vehicle and mini-gun. The game will also include the “New Demon,” an ice shooting boss that shoots ice in Lara’s path. Other additions will include an overhauled tutorial and campaign map.
Lara Croft: Relic Run is a take on the 3D endless runner template that has become popular in the mobile space. Relic Run follows Temple Run, which is considered to be one of the founding titles in the genre. Temple Run has been downloaded an estimated billion times since releasing in 2011.
Lara Croft: Relic Run has reached this milestone soon before the release of Rise of the Tomb Raider. Rise of the Tomb Raider will release on the Xbox One on November 10th. The game will be an Xbox One exclusive for a year.
