So a lot of info came out about Final Fantasy VII Remake. Early footage looks promising, the fans are excited, and it seems that it’s such a huge undertaking things will have to be chopped up into episodes. Finally, it looks like Square Enix is getting help in an unlikely place.

In addition to the core dev team, the team behind the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Naruto games, CyberConnect2 will be helping bring Cloud and Midgar into the new generation. This was confirmed in an interview with the remake’s director, Tetsuya Nomura, in an interview with Famitsu, where he stated he would love for the studio to assist with the FFVII remake, and that the studio has worked with the IP before, if only on a mobile game spin-off.

Of course they aren’t working on it immediately. In another interview with Dualshockers, CyberConnect2’s president Hiroshi Matsuyama said, “for now I’m really dedicated to adaptations of Naruto and JJBA. Working on a new project requires more time as was the case..” Matsuyama of course is speaking about the team finishing up development of Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC which is slated for a February 2016 release. Afterwards? As they say, the sky’s the limit.
