Konami has announced that Neymar Jr. will be their new cover star for Pro Evolution Soccer 2016. The Brazil and Barcelona Forward will take over for Mario Gotze, who was on the cover of PES 2015. He will also be a pre-order bonus to be used in myClub, a mode where you are able to build your own team.
Neymar Jr. has climbed the charts of the football world with his recent play in the World Cup and his role with Barcelona. This past year Barcelona won all three of their major competitions: the Champions League, Spanish League, and Spanish Cup. Now, he is a cover star.
Neymar commented on the the privelege, “This is a real honour for me to be cover star for PES 2016. The series has long been praised for its sheer level of control and utter realism and I am delighted to be working with such a talented team as Konami.”
Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 will be released sometime this Fall. Konami will release a full game reveal on Friday, June 12th with more details.
