According to an email party invite, Square Enix is revealing a “secret title” this year at E3. The invite describes the IGN-sponsored event as “an E3 party for a secret title from Square Enix.” They couldn’t have used more vague language! The image shows the Atlantic Ocean, with various countries across the globe blurred out.
Square Enix is hosting an E3 press conference on June 16, at 10 am pacific/1 pm Eastern. We should learn more about this unannounced game then. We know that IO Interactive is working on a new Hitman game, and a new IP is possible. When contacted for additional information, a Square Enix representative declined to comment. Square Enix also unveiled a new trailer for Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Square Enix is on my list of favorite developers, extremely close near the top. I cant help but hope it’s either Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy, but that is just my immense love for those two series showing. I would enjoy an entirely new franchise as well. I think it is a great idea that they’re doing this vague marketing style right now, it’s doing what it should and getting people talking about them.
