It’s no secret that Youtube can be a very well-paying job. Popular Youtubers such as Tobuscus and The Shaytards have made it big, and well known Youtuber, PewDiePie, is definitely amongst the ranks of the other highrollers.
The Swedish Youtuber joined Maker Studios back in 2012 after already having a huge following, which was then sold to Disney for a whopping $5 million. Maker Studios is a video content creating company hounded by Shay Carl of the Shaytards. Bringing in PewDiePie was a smart move, as was selling it.
Felix Kjellberg, Pewd’s real name, has 37 million subscribers on Youtube as of July 7th, 2015. In 2014, he made around $4 million just from ad sales alone, and made a total of $7.5 million.
“I’m so central to YouTube now, and that puts me in the spotlight and raises a lot of questions like ‘Why is he so big?'” Kjellberg said. “I’d much rather prefer to have something like 5 million subscribers.”
