Today at MineCon 2015 in London, Telltale revealed a trailer and new information about their Minecraft game.
Minecraft: Story Mode is an episodic game set in the world of Minecraft and told in Telltale’s unique style. Telltale is known for hits such The Walking Dead, Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones; this new game from them will be of a similar style.
Throughout the game players will control the main protagonist named Jesse who is voiced by Patton Oswalt. Jesse and his friends are fans of the legendary Order of the Stone; a group of four adventurers who slayed an Ender Dragon. The Order are the very best in their respective fields: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer and Architect. At EnderCon Jesse and his friends discover that something is very wrong and they must set out to find The Order of the Stone in order to save their world.
There have been various voice actors confirmed for the game by Telltale and will feature the talents of: Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, and Paul Reubens.
The first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode has been confirmed for release this year for Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, Playstation 3, PC and Mac as well as iOS and Android devices.
