Destiny released in September 2014. Since then, players have logged in over 2 billion hours of gameplay.

During an earnings report released today, Activision announced that Destiny now has 20 million registered players. All together, these players have logged in 2 billion hours of gameplay. This averages to 100 hours per player. As there are many gamers that have stopped playing early on, that means that some players have logged in hundreds of hours themselves.

During the earnings call, Activision reiterated its support for Destiny. The games latest expansion, The Taken King, will be much bigger than the previous expansions. The company is calling it an “mega-expansion.”

Destiny: The Taken King releases on September 15th. It will release for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Recently, new screenshots and details were released for The Taken King, which you can check out here.
