This morning Microsoft announced a sweet new incentive for those interested in the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition this fall.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition ($40) for Xbox One is a completely remastered version of the first Gears of War game that has new graphics, cinematics, and gameplay. It also has new maps, modes, and missions, early access to the Gears of War 4 multiplayer beta, new achievements, and an additional difficultly level.
Microsoft said that players who purchase the Ultimate Edition and play it on Xbox Live between August 25th and December 31st, 2015 will get the entire Gears of War collection for free on their Xbox One console.
The four classic Gears of War titles are:
- Gears of War
- Gears of War 2
- Gears of War 3
- Gears of War: Judgement
Note: These are not remastered games, but the original Xbox 360 games that are available through the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program which launches this fall.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will be released August 25th on Xbox One.
