Martin O’Donnell may no longer be a part of the sound team for the Halo series, but that doesn’t mean his successor won’t do a bang up job of it. The Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta had concluded a while ago, but updates can be seen for those who still have the files of the beta. In an update, a track was put in for the main menu of the game as well as several multiplayer menu screens. It was revealed then that the composer for the soundtrack is Kazuma Jinnouchi.

Kazuma Jinnouchi is famous for his work on the Metal Gear series. Having such a pedigree, and hearing just a bit of the soundtrack for Halo 5, the entire original soundtrack is definitely going to be something special.

Microsoft confirmed the validity of the leaks and has brushed it aside saying:

“It’s unfortunate when work-in-progress content leaks, but this Halo 5: Guardianscontent is part of our ongoing private, external testing for multiplayer. We will continue to rigorously test Halo 5: Guardians to ensure the best possible experience for fans at launch.”

It’s great to see the team taking the leaks in stride and continuing on to try and make sure everything runs smoothly.

Halo 5: Guardians is slated for release on the Xbox One on October 27th this year.
