As with any massive open-world game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has suffered from its share of performance hick-ups, and, since launch, it has been the PS4 version of the game that has received the brunt of the criticism. With the upcoming patch 1.09 however, CD Projekt Red seems aimed to fix these issues, Community Manager Marcin Momot taking to the game’s forums to tease what’s ahead.

In regards to when we might see the patch, Momot explained, “The patch is on the way.” And as for what changes are in store, he said, the list “looks really impressive – the list of changes is massive. The update will bring a lot of fixes and improvements including PS4 performance (as well as other platforms) plus many more. We ask for a bit more patience.”

He went on to apologize for not being able to provide specifics, saying, “Working to have [the list] posted as soon as possible but it won’t happen before October. Sorry.”

With The Witcher 3 receiving its first expansion, ‘Hearts of Stone,’ October 13th, it seems likely the release of patch 1.09 will coincide with the release of the new content.

In Gamespresso’s review of The Witcher 3 Chandler Tate applauded the massive world and shear amount of content to be found in the game, calling it the “nearest thing the games industry has to a perfect RPG.”
