At Sony’s pre- Tokyo Games Show press conference Square Enix announced Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue will release on the PlayStation 4 in 2016. The game will include a high-definition remake of Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover, and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep 0.2. The game’s announcement comes soon after rumors of Kingdom Hearts 2.9 had surfaced.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 is the third HD collection for the series. The latest entry in the HD remakes was Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, which released on the PlayStation 3 last December. The collection included high-definition remasters of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final mix, as well as cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts Re:coded.
Kingdom Hearts HD2.8 Final Chapter Prologue is the precursor for the long-anticipated Kingdom Hearts III. We know Kingdom Hearts III is coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but do not have a release date at this time.
