The crowdfunding for the PC game Star Citizen has pushed beyond the $93 million mark. The game has over one million backers and, at the time of this article, funding stands at $93,227,378.
Chris Roberts, the creator of Star Citizen, had previously said he expected the campaign to surpass the $100 million mark. With the speed that the title has gained momentum it looks like that goal could be reached before the year is out.
The backer milestone of one million was achieved after last weekend’s event, CitizenCon.
Actors such as Gary Oldman, Mark Hamill, John Rhys-Davies, Gillian Anderson, Andy Serkis, Ben Mendelsohn, and Mark Strong will appear in the game.
No release date has been announced for Star Citizen as of yet.
