The eagerly awaited Bloodborne expansion, Bloodborne: The Old Hunters, is releasing next week and with all of the excitement surrounding the upcoming arrival, we’ve been given an early peak behind the proverbial curtain. Producer Masaaki Yamagiwa has shared some new details on the upcoming expansion in a recent post on the PlayStation Blog, showing off some cool new stuff we can expect to see in the game.

In the post Yamagiwa talks about some of the new beasties that will be added in the expansion, including a spooky looking npc wearing the horns and scalp of a monster, and a new enemy that wields a giant bell/axe hybrid. He also mentions two new weapons. The gattling gun; a sidearm that shoots a barrage of bullets at enemies, but burns through ammo pretty quickly. As well as a weapon called the “Bloodletter”, a rad weapon who’s secondary form draws upon the blood of its wielder… which apparently means that it must be plunged into your own chest… hm…He goes on to detail a new rune called “The Beasts Embrace”, which appears to be some kind of twisted, Hellraiser-esque, body horror/super power that gives the character beast-like abilities.

The post also details how to access the content once the expansion is installed, but that isn’t exactly pertinent as of right now…
