Hideo Kojima, the creator of the Metal Gear series, has had some rough times in the past few months. His split from Konami after 30 years with the company had its rough points. He also was legally banned from the 2015 Game Awards. Things may just begin to turn around for Kojima, however.

Not only has the acclaimed writer and director started his own studio, but he is being recognized by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, or AIAS, for his lifetime of work. It was reported by Game Informer that on February 18, Hideo Kojima will be inducted into the AIAS Hall of Fame at the D.I.C.E Awards. With this, he will be the 21st person to achieve this accomplishment. It would be hard to argue that he does not deserve it.

Hidea Kojima’s past may have some ups and downs, but his future is certainly looking bright. It is exciting to see what is yet to come from this masterful creator.
