Razer has announced the newest version of their Blade laptop, but the new version has a couple tricks up its sleeve. Called the Razer Blade Stealth, the new laptop works just fine on its own with a 12.5-inch screen and weighing in at less than three pounds. But the laptop can also be connected to a vastly more powerful Razer Core housing, allowing the computer to manage desktop level performance for gaming.

Designed mostly for portability the Blade Stealth only includes an onboard Intel HD 520 graphic card. In comparison, the Core housing is designed to fit up to a double-wide, full-length PCI graphics card, meaning most of what Nvidia and AMD have to offer. It’s also equipped with four USB 3.0 ports, gigabyte ethernet, and a 500-watt power supply. Connecting to the Blade Stealth via a Thunderbolt cable, the laptop is able to use the extra GPU power of the Core on the laptop screen. You can find the full specs for both machines below.

While the Razer Core does not yet have a price or a firm release date, the laptop itself is now available for pre-order, its release coming later this month. Two versions are available, a $999 set up with a Quad HD display (2560 x 1440), and then a $1,599 SKU with a 4K display (3840 x 2160).
