The Xbox Exclusive RPG, Scalebound, will not be joining the Xbox’s lineup in 2016.

The title, which was initially meant for a 2016 launch, is developed by Platinum games. Scalebound focuses around Drew, and his dragon Thuban. Rather then fighting the dragon, this time you’ll be partnering up with it.

Gameplay released for Scalebound so far is limited, but we have seen Drew and Thuban working together. The player controls Drew, while Thuban is controlled by the Artificial Intelligence.

According to the post on Platinum Game’s site, the game is a much larger undertaking then they expected. For the full experience of the game, they’ll have to wait until 2017 to release it. “Development on the game is going well and we’re really happy with how it’s coming together. Scalebound is one of the biggest games PlatinumGames has ever created: an epic adventure filled with exploration and fantasy gameplay, inventive multiplayer, and action-packed battles on an unbelievable scale – all set in a beautiful and evolving world. It’s the game our team has always dreamed of making.”

For those of you that are interested in Xbox One exclusives, Microsoft launched a list alongside the announcement of Scalebound being delayed.
