Still in early access, Godus got a free content update. Well, sort of.

The games development first started in 2012, and 22cans has yet to give a rough idea on when the game could see its full release. An attempt at revamping the God Game genre, Godus is just one of those games that doesn’t get freemium right.

The update on steam showed off Godus Wars, a new addition to the game. Having not had an update in quite awhile, people were beginning to think that the game may have been abandoned. The DLC was free, up until you wanted to expand to the second playable continent. That you had to pay for. 22cans has since changed the continent so that it is free, along with the DLC.

Although the CEO is standing behind the decision(even after the change), saying that “especially considering that Godus Wars has been delivered as a free update to hundreds of thousands of users and the lower purchase price of the main game.” (source)

Although his logic may make sense to fat cats, its clear that they just want to make as much money as possible – on a game that people already purchased.
