Kalypso has released an announcement trailer to reveal their latest and newest IP, Urban Legends.
Unlike in the Tropico series, where players rule an entire nation as you see fit, you are set up as the government head of a small town. Over the span of up to a few centuries, players will be tasked with attempting to do more than just building buildings and infastructure, but actually get projects and the like approved through the wonderful and stress-free democratic system.
The game starts at the height of the Industrial age, where players choose one of four ruling families. Each one has a speciality that might help them with certain aspects of developing this little hamlet. The game is definitely a diversion away from the usual build-and-go playstyle of some of their other strategy games, which could add an interesting twist to the genre.
Urban Empire will be a PC-exclusive title releasing sometime in fall 2016.
