Another month is upon us which means players will soon be able to get their hands on some free games courtesy of the Xbox’s Games with Gold promotion. Available for the Xbox One is The Banner Saga 2 and Tumblestone while the backwards compatible titles on offer are Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 and Tron: Evolution.
Available on July 1st, The Banner Saga 2 is a tactical role-playing game from the three-man dev team Stoic. A direct continuation from Banner Saga 1, it starts with the world still crumbling as the Dredge take over. The player must take control of the few remaining heroes and battle the Dredge.
Available later, on July 16th, Tumblestone is a local multiplayer puzzle game that harkens back to the days of Tetris and Puzzle Bobble. While a fun couch co-op game, players can still go it alone with the story mode.
The first backwards compatible title available will be Rainbow 6: Vegas 2. With terrorists threatening Las Vegas you will lead the world’s best special ops team against them as you breach, rappel and shoot your way through sin city. Fully customise your main character for both the single player and online multiplayer and take your friend along for the mission with 2 player co-op campaign or 4 player co-op terrorist hunt.
The second backwards compatible title available will be Tron: Evolution. Step into the virtual shoes of Anon, a systems monitor new to his job as you explore the neon cities of the Tron world. Set before the events of the movie, Tron: Legacy, players can explore the world and get to know the characters better.
The first free title will become available on July 1st. Until then, players can still pick up June’s Games with Gold.
