Indie developer Sunburned Games have announced that their game, The Great Whale Road will be coming to Steam Early Access.
In this game, you play as the leader of a Viking clan in the year 650 A.D. with the task of exploring the Northern seas. You must also struggle to keep your clan members alive throughout the course of the game. The game is broken into two season, Summer and Winter. In the summer phases of the game, players will have to explore the world and trade with other clans while also completing missions. The main goal is to gather enough resources before Winter.
During the Winter phase of the game, players must defend their settlement from invaders as well as do all they can so that their clan can survive the winter.
The game features a unique 2D art style and a turned based combat system with cards that takes place on both land and sea.
The Early Access version of the game will only have the Danes from Úlfarrsted as the only playable clan available to play. More clan and more features will be added to the game in the future.
The Great While Road will be sailing onto Steam Early Access on July 28th
