It seems as though some players have found ways to make a profit while playing Pokemon Go. All around the net, high level accounts with rare and high-level Pokemon have been popping up on sites such as eBay and Craigslist.

Prices for these accounts can range from a few dollars, to tens of thousands. The highest auction currently running on eBay is a level 26 account priced at $10,000.00. The account  has over 122 Pokemon logged into the pokedex, as well as a Dragonite with over 3000cp.

There are also Pokemon GO leveling services for those who are too busy to play the game themselves. Niantic, the developer behind Pokemon GO, discourages players form buying and selling accounts in a statement on their official website:

“Don’t do it. Play fair. Pokemon GO is meant to be played on a mobile device and get you outside to explore your world! Methods of cheating, unfortunately, are limited only by cheaters’ imaginations, but include at a minimum the following: using modified or unofficial software; playing with multiple accounts (one account per player, please); sharing accounts; using tools or techniques to alter or falsify your location; or selling/trading accounts.”

Japan has recently become the latest country to receive the app.
