With The International packed away for the year, it’s team shuffle season for the Dota 2 professional scene is in full swing. There have already been countless exciting new addition and changes, but the biggest one to date, is the retirement of Evil Geniuses’ Clinton ‘Fear’ Loomis and the unveiling of the brand new EG. Due to recurring health issues, Clinton opted to step down as an active competitive Dota 2 and will become EG’s coach for the new team.

The new team will include current members of EG; Sumail ‘Suma1L’ Hassan, Saahil ‘Universe’ Arora and Ludwig ‘zai’ Wåhlberg. Taking Clinton’s position 1 will be former Team Secret and EG player Artour ‘Arteezy’ Babaev. Finally, Peter ‘ppd’ Dager will be stepping down as captain to take on administrative business for EG. Instead, former OG position 4 Andreas ‘Cr1t-‘ Nielson will be taking position 5 and team captain role.

Over the next few weeks, the team hopes to mesh together with the new team format before the next set of LAN tournaments.

Evil Geniuses managed to place third at The International 6, only losing out to dark horse team Digital Chaos last month. Prior to the event, the team managed to get into third place for the Shanghai and Frankfurt Major and even secure first place at The International 5 last year.
