Nvidia has released exclusive footage for Gears of War 4 showing off returning multiplayer map Gridlock and the game’s Guardian mode.

Gridlock first made its debut in the original Gears of War and has since made appearances in Gears of War 2 and 3. In Gears of War 4, the map has been reimagined to fit the game’s “Reclaimed Beauty” aesthetic.

“Gridlock has begun to erode into the sea, as overgrowing foliage begins winding its way over and around the abandoned buildings,” Nvidia described.

In addition to the first look at Gridlock, multiplayer gameplay of the game’s Guardian mode was released. Guardian first appeared in the second installment and is making a return with a few twists. In order to win, players must take out the opposing team’s leader. Once the leader is down, each player on that team only has one remaining life. The first team to kill the leader and wipe out the remaining players wins.

The gameplay video shown below is running on ultra settings using a GeForce GTX 1080:

Gears of War 4 launches on October 11 for Xbox One and PC. In other related news, Nvidia is offering a free copy of the game with select graphics cards.
