The Killzone series could still make a comeback, according to developer Guerrilla Games.

The first-person shooter developed by the Sony-owned studio may not be over. A recent interview between Game Informer (via GameSpot) and Guerrilla’s managing director Hermen Hulst suggests that there could still be a future entry in the series.

“Killzone is very key and very core to Guerrilla,” Hulst said. “We have a lot of love for the franchise. In a way it’s conclusive, but at the same time we’ll leave everything open for the future. Who am I to say we’ll never do anything? There’s too much in it to ever make any kind of definite statements on [the future of Killzone].”

The latest entry in the series was Killzone: Shadow Fall, released in 2013 alongside the launch of the PlayStation 4.

Guerrilla’s latest project is something entirely different, also known as Horizon: Zero Dawn coming exclusively to the PlayStation 4 on February 28, 2017. The title was recently shown off as one of the upcoming games taking advantage of the power of the newly announced PlayStation 4 Pro. Yesterday’s PlayStation meeting confirmed that the upgraded PS4 console will feature improved graphics, outputting to 4K televisions and HDR, and Guerrilla’s project certainly looks more beautiful because of it.
